Juicy Juice

Fancy Juice

During the holidays we all indulge. I won’t even go into how much cheese and decadent pie I have eaten over the last couple of weeks.  Which is why a super fast and easy way to feel like I’m getting nutrients instead of getting chubby is to Juice.

Now I have never tried a juice fast – I honestly don’t think I could survive on liquid nutrition alone. Pretty sure that it would make me cranky and delirious at the same time. However, I do love to swap out coffee for juice or just sip on a mason jar of juice throughout the day.  It does wonders for your skin, you feel awake, you have energy…Beyonce probably feels like that all the time.

Also, I absolutely recommend using an actual juicer and not a blender because a blender won’t pulverize all the veggies properly.  This is also a good time to note that the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite is on my X-mas Wish List.

Here are the ingredients I use in my favorite juice:

Cucumber
Celery
Ginger
Carrots
Green Apples
Pears
Kale or Spinach
Kiwis
Beets
Pineapple or maybe a little Orange
Lemon

You will love this!  I love it so much that we got to the point where our weekly wine nights evolved into Tuesday Night Juicing Parties.  Best. Thing. Ever.

I can get anyone to love Brussels Sprouts

Brussels Sprouts are a regular request for holiday dinners ( I actually made them for two different Thanksgiving dinners this past week!) and they are cooked almost weekly at my place. I don’t know why they get such a bad rap. Were they prepared terribly for decades or something? Doesn’t anyone know the secret of extraordinary cooking? It’s simple, really. The secret is bourbon! Always remember that a little booze goes a long way, and a lotta booze goes even farther.  Give them a shot.
